ABOUT US
What is the Community Resource Center?
The Community Resource Center (CRC) supports individuals and families served by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) by helping them navigate, access, and engage with community-based resources. Our Community Resource Specialists work directly within DDS Area Offices across the Northeast Region to provide personalized guidance, community connections, and up-to-date information on programs, services, and opportunities.
We build strong partnerships with families, service coordinators, community organizations, schools, local recreation departments, employers, colleges, and inclusive programs. Our goal is to ensure individuals have the tools, supports, and connections they need to pursue meaningful community engagement, independence, and personal growth.
Northeast Transition Collaborative Network
The Northeast Transition Collaborative Network (NTCN), led by the Community Resource Center at Northeast Arc, supports families, individuals, educators, and providers by sharing resources and information to navigate the transition to adult services.
Through webinars, trainings, and community events, NTCN helps build knowledge and connection across the transition process. Visit the NTCN webpage to learn more, explore upcoming events, and access past recordings and resources.
eCommunity Connections
eCommunityConnections is our online platform that connects individuals and families to free events, accessible spaces, and activities for all abilities—helping build community and a sense of belonging through local resources in the Northeast region.

Direct Support for Individuals and Families
- Tailored guidance on recreation, employment, transportation, housing, benefits, and more
- Support with applying for programs and following up to ensure needs are met
Partnering with DDDS
- Collaboration with service coordinators on resource navigation and complex cases
- Participation in DDS events, meetings, committees, and ISP meetings
(as appropriate)
Community Engagement and Resource Development
- Maintaining relationships with local programs, schools, college, recreation departments, and service providers
- Identifying new resources and keeping the region’s information current
- Attending community events and distributing updated resource information
Tracking Needs Across the Region
- Managing resource requests and identifying local trends and gaps
- Maintaining accurate data and providing updates to DDS and Northeast Arc leadership
Community Engagement and Resource Development
- Supporting Northeast Transition Collaborative (NTCN) webinars and community education efforts
- Assisting with resource fairs, caregiver groups, and community inclusion events

Each Community Resource Specialist is embedded in a DDS Area Office within the Northeast region of Massachusetts, serving as a dedicated resource navigator.
