Regina and Karen LaVasseur are one such family. When the time came for Regina to choose a place for her daughter to call home, she chose Northeast Arc. Since Karen moved into her home, Regina has commented that she “is not an observer in someone else’s life, but the main character in her own life.” Karen’s has been enriched by dedicated staff including nursing case management. She is now an up-and-coming artist thanks to a staff member who helps bring out the artistic talents of the people she supports. Karen takes great pleasure in going to the theater, to dances and participating in all the events the local community has to offer. Karen is a true example of how Northeast Arc lives its mission every day.
