Northeast Arc is pleased to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. These funds will support individuals and families who receive services through the Autism Support Center, with a particular focus on traditionally under-served, under-funded, and culturally diverse communities.
“We are thrilled to once again receive this critical funding from the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, and are grateful for this continued support over the years,” said Gloria Ricardi-Castillo, director of family support centers at Northeast Arc. “For more than 30 years, the Autism Support Center has served a diverse range of families with varied needs, in communities across Northeastern Massachusetts. This grant is important because it will give us much needed flexibility to support these families in ways that are most impactful to them.”
The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, based in Framingham, MA, awards grants annually through a competitive application and review process. The Autism Community Impact Grants that the Flutie Foundation distributed this year provide support in the Foundation’s areas of interest; providing a path for educational and vocational skills, supporting recreational and active lifestyles, and ensuring people with autism are able to live safe, self-directed, and productive lives.
”The Flutie Foundation Autism Community Impact Grant helps our partner agencies address a variety of significant needs in the autism community,” says Nick Savarese, Executive Director of The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism. “Programs like these help people on the autism spectrum live life to the fullest and we are proud to support their efforts.”
