Planned Lifetime Assistance Network of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Inc. (PLAN of MA & RI) has made a $100,000 gift to Northeast Arc. The gift is PLAN’s fourth donation to NeArc, representing the organization’s commitment to inclusion for people with disabilities and autism.

PLAN of MA & RI is a nonprofit organization proudly serving people with disabilities — helping them to preserve their assets, protect their benefits, and to live well.

Joan McGrath, PLAN of MA & RI executive director, presented a check to Jo Ann Simons, Northeast Arc president and CEO, at the 55th Annual Mike Frangos Commodore Invitational Golf Tournament, where PLAN served as title sponsor. With support from PLAN, Northeast Arc’s tournament raised nearly $180,000.

In 2021, PLAN of MA & RI was named the exclusive special needs planning partner of Northeast Arc. This partnership is meant to assist people with disabilities in securing their financial freedom so they can live independent and inclusive lives while choosing for themselves how to live, learn, work, socialize, and play.

“PLAN’s impact on Northeast Arc goes beyond financial planning and Special Needs Trusts,” said Simons. “From information sessions for staff to benefits presentations to our families, PLAN helps our community gain important knowledge about the complex financial landscape they face.”

PLAN has now committed a total of $375,000 to support Northeast Arc programs and services.

“We are thrilled to not only continue our relationship with Northeast Arc, but to strengthen it,” said McGrath. “Over the past 4 years, Northeast Arc has become a valuable partner, and we are proud to support an organization with a mission that aligns so closely with ours.”
