Northeast Arc has elected Jenny Holaday to its Board of Directors and selected Jackson Skane to serve as youth ambassador to the Board.
Holaday is the President of Encore Boston Harbor, a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel, featuring more than 210,000 square-feet of gaming space, 671 spacious hotel rooms, various dining and lounge venues, a Forbes Five-Star spa and much more. She oversees all aspects of the $2.6B resort’s operations and leads a team of more than 3,500 employees.
“I am truly honored to become a member of the board of directors at Northeast Arc,” said Holaday. “Over the past two years, Encore Boston Harbor has proudly hosted Northeast Arc’s iconic fundraising gala, An Evening of Changing Lives, an event in which I’ve been deeply engaged. This experience has provided me with profound insights into the organization, and I have been consistently amazed by the remarkable impact they have on the community.”
Holaday has lived and worked in gaming regions from the East Coast to Nevada and many places in between. She has held executive positions for companies including Harrah’s, Caesars Entertainment and Mandalay Resort Group and has successfully launched two enterprise-wide casino player programs.
“Jenny is a terrific addition to our board of directors,” said Heidi Ellard, Board Chair, Northeast Arc. “We are already looking forward to hosting our annual spring gala in 2024 at the Encore Boston Harbor. Having seen Jenny in action for the last two years, I’m excited for her to serve as the co-chair of our inclusive fashion show. I’m confident she will bring that same energy and enthusiasm to the Board as we work to fulfill the mission of Northeast Arc.”
In his role as youth ambassador, Jackson Skane will represent and speak about the interests and priorities of young people with disabilities and autism.
“I am very proud to be selected to join Northeast Arc’s Board of Directors as an advocate for young people with disabilities,” said Jackson Skane. “I plan to bring new ideas, a unique perspective, and positive energy to the Northeast Arc.”
Skane is a member of Northeast Arc’s Young Ambassadors Group, where he has attended advocacy training sessions, participated in experiential learning, and promoted inclusion and opportunity for people with diverse abilities. In 2022, Skane was also named to the Community Experts Team at the Peter & Elizabeth Tower Foundation, a group of young adults who provide input on the Foundation’s grantmaking.
Skane is currently attending Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School where he is studying dental assisting.
