Employment Preparation Programs
The following DDS funded programs are all community-based day supports programs:
S.T.E.P. (Skills Training Exploration Program)
S.T.E.P. is designed to support participants to build work and life skills so they can become productive members of their communities. A major part of S.T.E.P. is the art-focused Discover & Design program.
Journeys
Journeys helps individuals develop the skills needed to access the community safely, become a productive member of the community, and build and maintain employment and life skills. The program offers individuals diverse opportunities to volunteer in the community and work at local businesses.
Work Supports
Our Work Supports programs — Supported Employment, Supported Group Employment and Community Employment — focus on skill development and employment in the community with support from Northeast Arc staff. Employment supports are designed to ensure that all people are able to achieve personal employment goals, and each person’s day is individually defined to maximize his or her opportunities to learn.
