No opening night jitters: Curtain officially rises on Peabody Black Box Theater (Salem Evening News, March 29, 2018)
Northeast Arc’s Black Box Theater Project, located at Arcworks Community Art Center, 22 Foster Street in Peabody, will benefit the whole community. With the help of local partners, we’ll renovate existing space that will provide employment opportunities for local actors, musicians, set builders, ticket sellers and concessions workers. The space will provide educational and recreational opportunities for as many as 7,800 youth annually.
The theater will become an anchor in the city’s downtown cultural district. The addition of performing arts to the Art Center will complement existing visual arts activities. Revenue from space rental will ensure long-term sustainability of the Center.
Please help us reach our goal of raising $550,000 for the Black Box Theater! A gift to Northeast Arc for this project is an investment in both those who will participate in and those who will enjoy the productions that will be staged. It is an investment in Peabody’s creative economy and will enhance the city’s reputation as a cultural destination.
