Transition Success Story: Lucas Mahegan (Dec. 2014)

“The primary purpose of education is not to enable students to do well in school, but to help them do well in the lives they lead outside of school.”

The process of transitioning from high school to college, vocational training, employment and/or independent living is a big shift and can feel overwhelming. For individuals with disabilities, it can be that much more challenging. Northeast Arc has extensive experience in providing social, recreational, advocacy and vocational support to individuals age 14 to 26 and we are a resource to local schools and adult service providers, offering consultation, staff training and school-based services. Northeast Arc Transition Services are paid for by public school systems and/or private pay.

For general Transition Services inquiries, contact Judy Bouffard at 978-624-2321. For inquiries about Adult Autism Services (including “Autism-only Eligibility”), contact Phyllis Kizner at 978-624-3747.
