On September 27th, Northeast Arc joined fellow human service agencies Bridgewell, Centerboard, Key Program, LifeLinks, Class, NFI Massachusetts and Wayside in hosting the Northeast Human Service Advocacy Legislative Breakfast: Caring for Those Who Care. The breakfast was held at Peabody City Hall.

The event focused on the pay inequity in the community-based human services sector between state and private workers. Workers at community-based agencies can make up to $15,000 less than their state counterparts because of state reimbursement rates. This discrepancy makes it difficult for human service agencies to attract and retain talent.

Northeast Arc would like to thank the following legislators who attended the event: Senator Joan Lovely; Representative Dan Cahill; Representative Ted Speliotis; Representative Paul Tucker; Representative Tom Walsh; and Representative Brad Hill.
