It seems appropriate that Alyxa Hart started at Northeast Arc in the Building Blocks program, since she has built a successful career over the last seven years.

Hart works as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), overseeing ABA service delivery for a dozen participants with autism and five behavior technicians, the first position she held when coming to the agency in 2018.

Hart covers the Merrimack Valley region, visiting children at home, day care or wherever they are in the community. She said it is gratifying to work with clients and parents directly to deliver valuable services.

“My favorite part of the job is watching clients succeed within their goals,” she said. “That can be different for each individual. That might include learning to communicate more effectively, interacting more effectively with others or more successfully navigating their environment.”

An Amesbury native, Hart graduated from UMass Lowell with a degree in psychology in 2017. She earned a master’s in education in autism and Applied Behavior Analysis from Endicott College in 2021 and her BCBA certification in 2022.

At NeArc, Hart worked with children under age 3 in the Building Blocks program and over age 3 in Building Bridges. She assumed her current position in 2022.

“Northeast Arc is a wonderful place to work and grow,” Hart said. “I’ve had the benefit of working in different programs and seeing the different sides of ABA, which allowed me to understand how it can be applied within the populations and settings I’ve worked in. It has been beneficial in helping me decide the path I wanted to take.”

When she isn’t working, Hart enjoys outside activities, including trail riding on her ATV. She credits her boyfriend, Sean, and parents, Sandy and Dale, with being supportive of her pursuit of her career.
