Northeast Arc has elected Dr. Nate Bryant of Salem to its Board of Directors.
Dr. Nate Bryant is the Vice President of Student Success at Salem State University. He oversees the areas of enrollment management, The Center for Academic Excellence, marketing and communications, public relations, and student life. Dr. Bryant has over 30 years of higher education experience and was recently named one of the 50 Most influential People of Color in Higher Education in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
“I’m honored to join the Northeast Arc’s board of directors,” said Dr. Nate Bryant. “I have seen first-hand the incredible work the organization does to help people living with developmental disabilities. The programming that Northeast Arc has developed through innovative and creative thinking is making a true difference in the lives of the people they serve and their families.”
Dr. Bryant is joining Northeast Arc’s Board at a time when Massachusetts is seeing expanded access to higher education opportunities for young adults with intellectual disabilities or autism. In 2022, the state implemented a law removing barriers that have historically prevented individuals with ID or autism from attending state colleges and universities. This new law will make it easier for these students to learn alongside their neurotypical peers.
“Nate is a terrific addition to our board of directors,” said Mike Foraste, Board Chair, Northeast Arc. “His breadth of experience in higher education brings a unique perspective to the organization and I look forward to working with him.”
Dr. Bryant holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration in education from Salem State. He holds a doctorate in higher education from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Additionally, Dr. Bryant attended Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education, Institution for Educational Management, an institute focused on leadership for senior level administrators in higher education.
